Our club has a proud history of developing and supporting golf since Melbourne’s earliest days. Formally established in 1896, and then known as the Essendon Golf Club, the course moved to Glenroy over 110 years ago. During this time, the course has evolved to become a challenging, premium golf destination.

The tradition of supporting elite golfers also continues today. Due to the quality of our facility, Northern hosts yearly major events on the Southern PGA tour and the National Legends PGA tour, with leading professionals competing from around Australia. We also host major Golf Australia events for men, women and juniors. Past winners include rising stars, Lucas Herbert and Todd Sinnott.
